Intimate Video is a title the artist uses to describe projects that incorporate video into objects and contexts not usually associated with the presentation of the moving image. Museum Window for example, is a project created specifically for the
exterior of an Art Museum and is directly related to the Venetian paintings. The project places moving image works within a more
informal and relaxed context growing out of his “domestic sculpture” work.
Michael Cook has a long interest in the discourse between painting and
electronic media. He examines the hierarchy of media;
video associated with popular entertainment, electronic news and painting
firmly located in the realm of “high art”.
